INVISION is pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Bechtel, AIA and Becky Hansel, AIA, ACHA, to partners within our firm. This transition is part of a proactive step in planning for the future of the firm. “Elevating key leaders in the firm continues to be a focus of ours as we develop our succession planning strategy continuing our success as a century old, leading architecture firm in the Midwest,” said Brad Leeper, AIA, Managing Partner.
Mike and Becky previously held principal positions within the firm, and this is the next step in their leadership growth. They possess important qualities and experience that position them to serve the firm in new, dynamic ways that will impact its future success.
Mike Bechtel, AIA
Mike joined the firm in 2008 and has 25 years of experience serving clients in multiple markets. He has designed a multitude of diverse, notable and award-winning projects, for higher education, housing, hospitality, healthcare, historic rehabilitation and commercial clients.
Mike’s unrelenting passion for design solutions that solve problems and his ability to ask “what if” questions leads to unique solutions for our clients. He has elevated our level of design over his tenure, and INVISION is often at the forefront of innovation. His passion for coaching younger staff to look at the big picture to provide high-quality design solutions is unmatched. This offers our clients solutions that lead to beautiful, useful, economical and environmentally-sound built environments that improve the broader communities in which they reside.
In addition, Mike has successfully led over a million square feet of historic tax credit projects that included both Federal National Parks Service and State Historic Preservation Offices in Iowa, Minnesota, and Missouri. His unique approach to historic projects releases the full potential of the existing fabric and spurs on the new use to achieve its highest potential. His approach to uncovering opportunities is proven by both the financial success of the finished products as well as the numerous design awards garnered by the same projects.
As a partner, Mike will lead the design and innovation initiatives within our firm and continue to mentor staff in our design process.
