The Hudson school campus evolved over the years with multiple additions, which led to a disjointed, confusing environment. The district was also predicting significant growth in enrollment that needed to be accommodated. INVISION worked collaboratively with Hudson Community Schools to define a future vision through a master planning process that engaged community, staff, and students. The first step of the master plan involved a multi-phased redevelopment of the elementary and middle school.
From a new commons, renovated media center, and a welcoming and secure front door, to taking care of basic deferred maintenance items, the renovation reimagined a central core for campus to bring new life to this aging and disordered community asset.
Just inside this new entrance and adjacent to the modernized media center, the new multipurpose academic commons area was created for dining, group collaboration, and after-hours community events. These common areas now also feature a significant amount of daylight and exterior views for a bright, open atmosphere.
